Yesterday, at OB HQ we celebrated Olivia Burton turning 4 (hip hip hooray)! There was lots of cake, laughter and celebrating and luckily no soggy bottoms.
Here at Olivia Burton we are MASSIVE fans of The Great British Bake Off (who isn't?!), so we thought, what better time to have a bake off than to celebrate our birthday, and so, it was aptly named 'The Great Olivia Burton Bake Off'.
We have to admit, there was a lot of panicking prior to the main event. As much as we love to watch the bake off, a lots of the girls were questioning their baking skills. However,we were pleasantly surprised by everybodies entries - well done girls!
Our very own Mary Berry aka our Co-founder Lesa Bennett, sampled each cake/cupcake and whittled the entries down to the top 3 (we are told it was a very tricky decision)!
In at third place was our Designer, Laura who had decorated TWO cakes, note that we say decorated, she actually bought two sponge cakes and decorated them both, however Lesa thought that her decorating was rather impressive, and she was not wrong!
Awarded second place was Production Co-ordinator, Charlotte who made an amazing chocolate cake with mini cupcakes to match, each topped with edible flowers!
Crowned Baking Queen, was our Brand Assistant, Emma who made an impressive three tier sponge cake with sprinkles, milky buttons and strawberries - the perfect combo!
Well done to all the girls who entered and thank you for making such amazing cakes - we will have no problem finishing them all off today. Also, a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Olivia Burton, on behalf of Jemma, Lesa and the team we would like to say a massive thank you to all of our stockists and customer for all of your support over the past four years - here's to the next four!
